26/11: When Idea talks for India
sijo joseph | Nov 20 2009

26/11 still triggers painful memories among not only among the India citizens but among all the peace loving people in this world. Mumbai, the financial capital of India, virtually came to a standstill when terrorists took the city itself as hostage and mercilessly executed a macabre massacre. Now, as the first anniversary of 26/11 is nearing, Idea Cellular has come up with a new campaign, Talk for India.

This movement tries to reach out to the people who are anguished, who are silently protesting against these inhuman terror attacks. As part of this movement, the net income of all voice calls made by Idea subscribers within India on November 26, for one hour between 8:36 pm and 9:36 pm, will be donated to the Government of India, in support of its initiative to strengthen the national security of the country.

Indeed, the effort is praiseworthy. However there may be a few who thinks that this is just a gimmick for promoting the brand.
