Metaphors have a telling effect on our psyche, simply because they test our IQ and at times, our EQ levels. This ‘Silk Cut’ creative is a fine example of this truth. On first glance, you notice a poker-faced bulldog flirting with danger and a stupid alligator going for a dead bone rather than the live, fresh meatbag staring right into its mouth. A closer look reveals that you are staring down the wrong hole. Clearly an advert that discourages smoking, the silk cut bone is in fact the satin smooth fag that dumps nicotine into your lungs. And, you (the smoker) stand poker-faced staring down death’s face visibly tempted by a killer addition. Silken smooth!
