BBC to sell its web ad space

Now everyone is selling web space for ad dollars...sorry pounds, euros whatever. Snobbish BBC is also no exception. BBC will now allow ads on its site, which would be visible outside UK. Latest Nielsen//NetRatings report has stated that BBC last month was clicked by more than 24.4 million visitors. As per popularity, it ranks 23rd worldwide.



Earlier a coalition of British newspapers has complained to British Government to stop funding its website. A part of the fund comes from a fee that is levied on British homes with a television. A section of the industry feels that thus it gets some unfair advantage in the internet-advertising domain.
