Dial MTV for Microsoft urge
Krish | Dec 14 2005

Microsoft wishes to take its agenda to MTV loyalists by leveraging the value of brand MTV. Its faking. Reuter reports Microsoft in conjunction with MTV will create digital music channel. Yes you guess it right, it will available on Windows Media Player.

Earlier advertisers (Hollywood film studios, major record companies) with an eye to develop marketing and advertising campaign use MTV to the fullest. Germany’s Bertelsmann and Sony (Japan) take help of MTV for integrated communication plans on world platform. Say, a music company with executives in 100 different countries takes MTV route (for a single event like pop star’s album launches or long term sustainable programs) to successfully integrate a single marketing strategy with a common advertising promotion and packaging goal all over the world.

Heavy (or not so heavy, regular) users of Television after repetitive global presentation of music and commercials experience similar taste in music, clothing and etc.

Microsoft wants a mindshare from the chunk.

More competion is always a good thing, maybe it will bring prices down in the future?

I’m sick & tired of that DRM CRAP though!
