Does The Olympic Torch Really Represent Free Spirit?
Alpheus | Apr 17 2008

Amidst all the furore over the Beijing Olympics and the torch, one does develop the feeling that the spirit of freedom has been compromised. It is a shame that a behemoth, both by size and economy, has done little to ease its vice-like grip over a nation that has, since decades, fought its war of independence over and over again. Does freedom belong to the books alone? The question finds an apt answer in DDB Warsaw’s latest creation for Amnesty International. Marred by violence and stained with blood, does the Olympic torch represent a free spirit or does it insinuate doubts about the true state of world peace?
