Balendu | Jul 31 2007

This is an award winning direct campaign launched by Doom&Dickson on the occasion of its 20th anniversary in New York. Doom & Dickson is an advertising agency in The Netherlands. In fact, two ‘founding fathers’ Jack Doom & Bill Dickson never really existed. The have not only produced visually stunning advertisements; but they also have written dozens of books on Marketing & Advertising that have changed the landscape of this profession. In fact, no body had the opportunity to read or buy one of them. The advertisers decided to send a mail piece with a lightweight version of 20 of their finest books to their clients, advertising colleagues and potential clients.

The accompanying letter read of the advertisement, ‘A decision maker without books is like Marilyn Monroe without her beauty mark. Just another face in the crowd.’ The advertisement had helped the agency to pitch in for a big national newspaper as they were looking for an advertising agency with a fresh approach. The campaign was held winner for Cannes Direct Bronze.
