Financial Times: We live in Financial Times
Balendu | May 15 2007

This is an interesting print advertisement campaign launched by Financial Times to promote its brand name and coverage intensity. The campaign aims at highlighting the extent and depth of its coverage. The advertisements are showing renowned and iconic Latin American revolutionary to focus on today’s business revolution that it covers. However, other two advertisements have been better illustrated that are depicting merger & acquisition and global business coverage in one place.

The photography of the campaign is certainly compelling and engaging that compliments and demonstrates the idea effectively. The art direction of the advertisements seems to be fantastic in the campaign. The presentation of the campaign is of course a visual delight, which successfully conveys its message. The punch line of the campaign reads, ‘we live in Financial Times’.

Excellent pick up on this campaign. I particularly like how it picques from three different emotional appeals- nature with the sharks, history/politics with the che/branson mash-up, and the future with the last.

One major thing you missed- the Revolutionary ad isn’t just a random revolutionary. It’s based on the image of Che Guevara (go see Motorcycle Diaries!), but if you take a closer look at the face I do believe it’s the image of Sir Branson of Virgin they’re trying to imply.
