Katie Couric's farewell brings more mullah to NBC
Krish | May 31 2006

When most people switch jobs, they do not get a firework farewell. Yes, that includes names like Tony Bernett and Martina McBride. But, ‘Today’ star Katie Couric is no common personality. She is a celebrated star in her own right. NBC knows that and estimating the euphoria in the very last minute of the event, it has doubled the price for its 30 second spots. Advertisers will now have to shell out $110,000 for a 30-second spot on Tuesday’s last episode of ‘Today’ show. They are calling it the ‘Katie price’ syndrome.

We all will be eagerly waiting to see how this bubbly personality fares up in her new position as the anchor of CBS news.
