To prove it, take Maria Sharapova. Sports Illustrated says that the Russian-American beauty is the highest earning sportswoman in the world. She makes around £13.4 million a year. Remember that she has not won a slam since Wimbledon in 2004.
Sharapova belongs to that beautiful no-stoppable, rich linage of Russian tennis beauties, which also gave the world Anna Kournikova, who sadly never won any singles title. However, Sharapova is hugely talented and wins other single titles too.
It is all about the image. Roger Federer, the quiet Swiss, in the Sampras mould, has won 8 slam titles but makes just £11.7 million a year. Of course, Federer wins over Sharapova when you take only the prize money component. Sharapova just gets more endorsement deals than the Swiss.

Maria, she is great tennis player and i m the great fan of her. certainly she won lesser grand slam title than the roger fedderer but because of her model like looks and her beauty makes her to earn more than the swiss world no. 1 roger fedderer. definitely its true that the beauty helps one build their career and its true with maria sharapova. i congratulate her for winning the US open recently which is her second grand slam title and even some more title in future and make the tennis world and her fan all around the world happy.
