Marketing The Simpsons online, 2.0 style
Pramit | Sep 9 2006

News Corp is going all out to promote The Simpsons’ 18th season in its online properties led by the crowd-puller Myspace.com site.

Sponsored by Burger King, the first 7 minutes of The Simpsons’ season opener will be available as a preview on Myspace on Saturday ahead of its Sunday evening start.

Pete Cashmore says that they should have put a Myspace Video format instead of Windows Media format, which could have had more viral potential.

Besides, Myspace.com, Fox.com and IGN TV are showing the Simpsons opener. Other popular sites like RottenTomatoes.com and FoxSports.com are wallpapered with Simpsons ads. AskMen.com changes to AskHomer.com for the day.

I dont like the marketing strategy of the Simpsons much. I think they have to take some advice from others. they can take advice from Duvet Dollars review, They can do it in better way.
