Another magazine, which belongs to a prominent group, is all set to fold its pages of prestigious operations. National Geographic group is all set to cease the operations of its adventure magazine, which has always been an inspiration for serious adventurous travelers across the world. The reason for the folding of the magazine is the steep decline in advertising revenues.

This sad incident raises some serious questions about the future of print media. There are many self-proclaimed prophets who announce the impending demise of the print media. Several incidents like that of Washington Post, still gives an alarming concern over the future of print media. Fearing a future transition, a large chunk of publishers has made online versions of their news papers and magazines, with a view to cope up with any avant-garde changes, if they appear.

However, those who forecast the demise of print media may not be completely right. It is true that with time all things must change or adapt to new situations. We do not have any serious reasons to believe that all the newspapers and magazine are going to vanish in the near future. Indeed, there will be fierce competition, and the positive thing is that only the best ones will emerge as the winners.
