Microsoft is sponsoring the newly launched mobile version of The New York times. The software giant has put up a small banner plugging Windows Mobile.

The NYT Mobile site offers a comprehensive range of information, however it remains to be seen if mobile o0fferings of social news sites such as Digg and Reddit receive the same support of big-time sponsors like Microsoft.
