Old Spice Double Impact body wash ad uses a centaur

Weiden+Kennedy, an American ad agency, is known for its superior management skills and customer satisfaction. This helped the agency grow from being a local American Ad agency to an international agency with offices all around the globe. Wieden+Kennedy, has been in the news lately for their work on Old Spice Dual Impact body wash. Deemed to be one of the weirdest ads launched out there, The Double Impact body wash has a centaur, a mythical being that is half man and half horse to do the talking about the dual nature of the product. The product has a ‘double impact’ that is it washes and moisturizes. The question that might cross people’s minds is why the centaur was chosen as a theme for the ad. Then you have the woman quipping that he is a ‘provider’ apart from being a man. The message of the Old Spice ad is ambiguous but in line with the macho image of the old spice products. The horse could be the ultimate symbol of power and strength, which seems to please both men and women. Whatever may be the intended message, the ad has definitely caught the attention of many consumers.

Nice commercial... it is just too bad that their ”stud” turned out to be a mare. I don’t see any ”boy parts” on that horse.
