PETA: Is that how KFC wants to be treated?
Balendu | Jul 27 2007

People for Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) had launched this poster advertisement to kick-start a campaign that gave a call to boycott KFC following its unethical treatment with animals. The advertisement seems to be in response to the earlier statement by David Novak, CEO Yum! Brands had reportedly asked PETA to treat KFC as well as KFC treats chicken. The poster further informs how KFC is involved in unethical treatment of animals. Therefore, the firm in one way is encouraging cruelty against animal.

The presentation of the advertisement is quite straightforward and has used some strong wordings in order to be penetrating and hard-hitting. The copy of the advertisement is quite lengthy that reads, ‘KFC allows its suppliers to cut the beaks off baby birds without any painkillers, breed and drug birds to become so top-heavy that the bones in their legs crack under them and they collapse, and drown birds in tanks of scalding-hot water while they are still fully conscious. Is that how KFC wants to be treated?’
