Reading between the shots

Imagine a video trailer for a book, which is yet to be published. This is what exactly Dean Koontz has done for his latest book. Like a music video that we are familiar with, he has created something which can be called a ‘book video’

‘Odd Hours’, the trailer, shows an emotionally packed scene in which a bruised hero leaves town with his backpack and dog, with an escorting voiceover- “I once dreamed of living out my days in the peace and tranquility of Pico Mundo, my hometown. I can wait. In the meantime I see dead people. I try to help them when I can,”

Koontz, in his website, has included more information on his new book. Report says that as video becomes cheaper, more authors are making them, erasing the need for readers to imagine the characters on the printed page.
