Well, saving someone from the verge of suicide and bring him back to life is a highly appreciable deed. Here, a depressed cabbage decides to commit suicide by jumping from the top of a building. But, by making it remember the dearest family, the rescue worker succeeds to bring this animated cabbage back to life.
This slightly funny animated spot is for RescueFood.org, an initiative of City Harvest, which helps feed New York’s hungry. The intention of this commercial is noble and genuine- to make maximum use of food items. However, a funny doubt may naturally creep into our minds- even if this cabbage is rescued from suicide bid; it is going to get devoured by the family.
Well, we can rescue drowning potatoes or neglected tomatoes, save them so that we can eat them tomorrow. But, portraying a suicide scene, even if it is an animated one, is not the proper way of communication.
Who knows? Tomorrow some ‘veggie lovers’ may frown at this improper use of animated vegetables. Earlier, in the middle of the night, a frightened animated cucumber escaped from a girl’s bedroom, and we laughed a lot at Sara’s secret.
