Shanghai's anti-jaywalking campaign

After Beijing’s ‘politeness’ campaign Shanghai is following suit with a new advertising campaign against a new social evil called Jaywalking. The city already has given training to police, media officials and other non-governmental groups about how people should cross the road when the traffic light is red. In China, red symbolizes people, you see.



However, it seems that people are not following those signs. Already 35,000 pedestrians have been fined for not following traffic rules properly. Before World Expo 2010, the city wants to inject proper social habits into its people.
