Survey: Online advertisers not keen on new media
Krish | May 31 2006

It seems advertisers are more comfortable with traditional web channels only. After conducting a survey on 253 interactive marketers, Forrester Research has found that marketers are reluctant to shift to new media like social networks and video games and prefer to stick to traditional online channels, such as search and email.

A good 72% respondents do not want to spend their ad budget on videogames in the next year. For mobile advertising, the percentage is 57. Only 13% respondents want to use non traditional media like blogs and social networks.

I do not know the detail demography of the universe here; however, the golden rule of marketing says that small and medium marketers only follow the first movers after they reap good ROI from their newest efforts.
