Gone are the days when a book was judged by its cover, possibly that would become a forgotten story as well. With the advent of video trailers to promote a book, buyers would definitely like to take look at the visuals summarizing the content rather merely looking on the cover.



Even HarperCollins is feeling the heat and it is now trying to promote its books such as scientist Tim Flannery’s ‘The Weather Makers’ and Gautam Malkani’s ‘Londonstani’, one of the biggest literary debuts of the year.



However, Steve Osgoode feels that turning literature into moving pictures may prove to be a risky business. However, few book writers too have expressed their apprehension for this kind of advertising of the books.
