US internet advertising up 38% in Q1

As advertisers are moving increasingly to the web, the U.S. Internet advertising has registered a growth of 38 percent and clocked a record $3.9 billion in the first quarter. The study, conducted jointly by The Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) and PricewaterhouseCoopers has surveyed firms that sell advertising space online, including Google and Yahoo.



Forbes’ year-old report stated that Google secured more than 45% of the total internet ad spend. In the last quarter of 2005 it had 58%, and in the first quarter of 2006 Google has registered 58% mark for the total spending on Internet advertising.
